Or *enter name other famous anime here*) So it is a challenge on its own to be original while picking what to work from, and THEN on top of that, having to do the actual piece in all originality and glamour that EVE demands...

I, in NO way, mean this as bragging, but this is just stellar art. ALL the art has been great, but I am noticing as the stakes get higher, the work gets a little more detailed...a little more care may be put into it. This is exactly what I was thinking of when I started this little get together. Win or lose I can walk away from this with no regrets whatsoever.

I wanted for you to enjoy what i did, because you always asked me if i pushed myself with what i showed you.. this time i can say yes i did. Thank you for that, I wanted to do something outside of my known ability, (them gelflings were a PAIN) and that's why i picked TDC for a subject.. I started it yesterday and finished coloring it today. I was really sweating this contest and was almost going to forfeit..time just not on my side these days.. but i'm glad to do it now.. do not sell yourself short, matt. Your piece rocked my @$$ when i saw it.. (even if i did get a little sinking feeling seeing the 'wiki changes' box with the EVE 3 link to it..heheh i was really worrying about your entry and how cool it would be) This was a battle to be remembered, this whole tournament.. I wouldn't call it selling myself short. I love...I MEAN LOVE what I did. And I think I'll get a vote or two but I am really acknowledging that your piece has a lot of things working for it. Maybe more so. Who knows? The judges will do thier thing and all I am admiting right now is that no matter what happens this is a battle that no-one can be ashamed of if they lose.
Actually I have just bet quite heavily on myself. LOL
Believing in yourself, no matter what. Thats the nature of this beast. I am ALMOST thinking of getting in the next one. NAH!!! I'm beat right now and there still might be a round left to go, where the stakes are even higher. A break might be good! LOL

2006-09-01 [Cia_mar]: no i do not think laminating it would be necessary just make an 8x10 copy and then send it in a manilla envelope to the recipiant of it!...though you may want to put in one ot the envelopes that are for photos, so it doesn't bend... i would think that the persone who perchases it would want to frame it or matte it themselves!

One thing about the prizes and such I feel the need to re-itterate is that whoever is RECIEVING the prize has to send YOU the SHIPPER the required postage to get it to them. They have to pay basically. Our donors should not have to foot the bill for mailing someone a prize. You can pay if you really want to but I would rather you didn't.
2006-09-01 [Cia_mar]: well as long as the shipper lets the payee know the cost of the package ahead of time... or sends it C.O.D....(still knowing cost ahead of time) it should be fine i think... we may need to post shipping prices next to the items, that way people can know ahead if it is something they can afford or not.. i mean i would hate to use creds to bid and win the bid but then find out afterwards that the shipping was out of my purse's league!

2006-09-02 [Evilmonk]: I see it like this: I now have a awesome piece of Transformers art that I never would have done if I hadn't felt the need to go all out against Marc. I am going to hang it on my wall, and be proud of what I did, but I also learned that I need to do more. Next time I have to go even further. Marc is awesome, no doubt, but I won't lie...a lot of times he slacks and doesn't go for what he can really do. He needs to push himself all the time. Leave that CZ that we ALL know and love, and really go to new places. I feel like I helped him do that with our battle, and that is a small victory for me. A simpler way to look at it is: in every battle there MUST be a loser. It has to happen.
All that is over now. I am behind Marc 100% as he goes head to head with Reds represenative. Will he do it?!? I think he can....but the question is, WILL he? Stay tuned and see! =D
